Election of Department Board group B and D (Students)

Election of Department Council, group B
Group B is temporary employees in educational/researcher positions. 1 member and 3 vice members will be elected for the period 01.08.2016 – 31.07.2017. The election is founded in the elective regulations of the University of Bergen (in Norwegian only).

Nomination of candidates
Deadline for nomination of candidates is 18 May at 15:00. Nominations may be sent/delivered to the Secretary of the Election Board, Nina Hølland. Any given nomination must be signed by at least three eligible voters from the respective election circuit (group/section). The nomination letter must contain at least one and at most four candidates (in no priority order). The candidates must be eligible for nomination. No one may sign more than one nomination letter.

Right to vote and census
Employees are responsible for verifying their registration in the census. Deadline for formal census complaints is 6 May. To have the right to vote and be eligible for nomination, employees must have started in their positions before 01 March 2016 and hold at least 50% position. Employees who are eligible for nomination have the duty of accepting election to the corresponding assignment. An employee already elected to a Department Council function may refuse re-election for an equally long period as they have previously served in that function. If an employee who has the right to refuse re-election is re-elected, a written permission from the elected person must follow the initial nomination (ref. § 10). If nominated employees have significant work- or welfare-related considerations which make Department Board membership unmanageable, they may apply for exemption from being elected. If the application is approved, the Election Board may withdraw the otherwise nominated candidate from election.

Date of election
The election will be held in the period 1-7 June and will be carried out online as a preference election (ref. § 7 and 9).

 

Election of Department Council, group D (students)

Group D is students at the Department of Biology. 2 members and 4 vice members will be elected for the period 01.08.2016 – 31.07.2017. The election is founded in the elective regulations of the University of Bergen (in Norwegian only).
