New leader in place
Then the Faculty Board has appointed my successor. In its extraordinary meeting this Wednesday Ørjan Totland was appointed as new Head of Department of BIO. It is reported that he already has accepted the position. Ørjan is a biologist from Bergen with his master and doctoral thesis from the former Botanical Institute (or FBI, as some like to call it). He has experience as Head of Department from the Department of Ecology and Natural Resource Management at NMBU, Ås, and he is currently professor II at BIO. He has a broad scientific production and he was awarded the Meltzer Prize at UiB in 2000. Congratulations and heartily welcome to Ørjan!
