Election of Department Council, group B Group B is temporary employees in educational/researcher positions. 1 member and 3 vice members will be elected for the period 01.08.2016 – 31.07.2017. The election is founded in the elective regulations of the University of Bergen (in Norwegian only). Nomination of candidates Deadline for nomination of candidates is 18 May at 15:00. Nominations may be sent to the Secretary of the Election Board, Nina Hølland Any given nomination must be signed by at least three eligible voters from the respective election circuit (group). The nomination letter must contain at least one and at most six candidates (in no priority order). The candidates must be eligible for nomination. No one may sign more than one nomination letter. Featured news: Here they will make fish feed from CO2

This autumn will see the completion of a pilot plant for processing CO2 into fishfeed.
Thus, the first tangible result of a work that has been going on for many years to see how one can exploit CO2 emissions and discharges into something useful. The raw material, the new test facility from Technology Centre Mongstad (TCM *), which operates testing of various technologies for separating CO2 from gas emissions from the refinery and it gas reel-type heat and power plant.
In the test plant, using proven methods of cultivation of Microalgae, one aims to test whether it is possible to produce a quantities of biomass with Omega 3 fatty acids which can be used to fish feed in the aquaculture industry.

The municipality wants to build a new freight terminal at Haukaas, but this is also where river mussels that the government already spends millions of krone to save.
-When Julius Caesar’s army invaded England in order to get their hands on this mussel already 55 years BC, perhaps Bergen Municipality also should consider it valuable says Per Johan Jakobsen. He’s a professor at the University of Bergen and works with “aquaculture” of river mussels at a designated facility at Austevoll.
