Apply for project funding for 2017
Norwegian Agency for Digital Learning in Higher Education announcing project funding for projects starting in 2017, which last for up to two years.
The funds will go to projects in three priority areas:
* Active learning
* Digitale learnings forms for employment
* Digital assessment

MBD researchers at The Genome Analysis Centre (UK)
Over the course of this week, Kenneth Meland, Francisca Carvalho and Joana Xavier participated in an intensive training course at The Genome Analysis Centre in Norwich (UK). This course focussed on the molecular and analytical aspects of genotype-by-sequencing (GBS) methods, and guided the participants all the way from the study design and strategy through the computational pipelines and results interpretation. The acquired skills will be used in several projects currently ongoing at the Marine Biodiversity Group, which will be conducted using the NGS facilities in the Biodiversity Lab (BDL).

RRI-Matchmaking for Digital Life Norway
On Monday June 20, the working group for Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) at the Centre for Digital Life Norway (DLN) will organise an RRI-matchmaking meeting for researchers who intend to apply for funding at the forthcoming call for proposals under the DLN-umbrella (CfP probably forthcoming in June). This call will be in the region of 100 mill. NOK. Research projects funded over this call will need to have a strong RRI-component, and the earlier RRI is considered in the development of a research idea, the better.
At the match-making meeting, biotechnology researchers planning a proposal can meet researchers from the humanities and social sciences who are interested in working with RRI. Participants can exchange ideas and discuss possible collaborations. Everyone who is interested can participate, also if your research idea still is loosely or if you are not yet sure whether you are going to hand in a proposal for this call.
The meeting will start with a short introduction to RRI and its role in DLN. The RRI working group will also give a short overview of methods and tools for implementing RRI in biotechnology research projects. A major part of meeting will be devoted to a “speed dating” session, where participants get the opportunity to meet the participants from the other disciplines in short conversations.
The meeting takes place in Trondheim and will last from 09.00 to 12.00, followed by lunch.
Similar events will be organised in Trondheim (21.06.) and in Oslo (after the summer). If sufficient interest, there might be matchmaking events also in Stavanger and Tromsø. A more detailed program and location will be announced later. Lunch is included.
